IV Madrid Lindy Exchange: Novedades / Schedule updates

A pocos días del inicio del IV Madrid Lindy Exchange seguimos trabajando para ampliar el programa del evento. Queremos llenar de baile espacios emblemáticos de Madrid y contamos con vosotros para hacerlo, así que aquí os dejamos una actualización con las principales novedades y nuevos detalles del evento. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1…

El viernes adelantamos el horario de entrada a la fiesta del Cha 3. Abrimos puertas a las 23:00 horas para una noche de baile en la que contaremos con los mejores DJj de MAD for Swing, la  Madrid Lindy Exchange Band y una jam abierta a músicos y solistas de Madrid..

La fiesta del Círculo de Bellas del sábado se agranda con otra banda en directo: los Rollin’ Stomps. Actuarán como teloneros de El Molino Big Band durante la fiesta nocturna y tocarán durante las finales de la J&J, para la que hay un montón de premios de nuestros colaboradores y amigos. Publicaremos todos los detalles de la J&J  en unos días.

Además hemos cerrado ya la participación de todas las escuelas de swing de Madrid en el IV Madrid Lindy Exchange. Este año se están volcando con nosotros para preparar unos tasters de lujo durante la tarde del sábado. Nos mostrarán distintos estilos de baile (Shag, Balboa, jazz steps) y nos explicarán trucos y movimientos para dar más estilo a nuestro lindy hop.

A las 17:30 horas, Blanco y Negro Studio romperá el hielo con el taster «Breaks de los buenos» para que nunca nos quedemos quietos. Le seguirá Swing Maniacs Madrid, que a las 18:00 nos propone que le pongamos «Un poco de shag a la vida» y nos atrevamos con esta variedad del swing. A Ritmo de Swing demostrará a las 18:30 por qué le ha dado a su taster  el título de «Musicalidad, nuestro lema» y después serán los profesores de Big South los que nos enseñarán cómo «Se puede bailar solo» con una sesión de jazz steps. Cierran la ronda Big Mama Swing  con su propuesta «La historia que esconde el Lindy» y  Minor Balboa, que nos invita a averiguar por qué «Balboa y Lindy caminan de la mano».

Desde la apertura de puertas hasta la madrugada, contaremos con dos espacios: la espectacular Sala de Columnas, para bailar, y la recién reformada sala La Fuentecilla. En esta última encontraréis  el bar, el mercadillo de puestos de nuestros colaboradores y el photocall. También será posible recibir masajes de un osteópata y masajista profesional, pero habrá que darse prisa en reservar para no perder turno. La Fuentecilla estará abierta durante todo el evento y en el bar habrá comida y bebida para picar algo.

Os anunciamos que tras las preliminares de la J&J (20:30 h) y hasta el inicio de la sesión nocturna (22:45 horas) la Sala de Columnas estará cerrada para que los músicos hagan pruebas de sonido. Nuestro mercado  y el bar permanecen abiertos en La Fuentecilla.

En nuestros planes iniciales estaba pasar el domingo en la Casa de Campo, pero no nos hemos podido resistir a la idea de bailar en el centro de Madrid. Por la mañana, de 12:00 a 15:00 horas, estaremos en el Paseo del Prado con la música en directo de la Madrid Lindy Exchange Band. Comenzaremos con una clase abierta de Charleston a la sombra de árboles centenarios y dentro del triángulo del arte de Madrid, formado por el Museo del Prado, el Thyssen-Bornemisza y el Reina Sofía (donde, por cierto, estaremos mañana mismo). Esta actividad se enmarca dentro de la iniciativa Pasea Madrid, que cierra el Paseo del Prado los domingos para que lo disfrutemos a pie o en bicicleta.

Para cerrar el IV Madrid Lindy Exchange, nos unimos al colectivo  Guerrilla Food Sound System y bailamos en la Plaza de Jacinto Benavente (Metro Sol) desde las 18:00 horas. No os olvidéis de llevar agua de sobra y protector solar, ya que no hay mucha sombra. Entre medias tenemos todo el ambientazo del barrio de Huertas para picotear algo y compartir experiencias. Os recomendamos que disfrutéis de una caña o refresquito bien fresquitos con una tapa en las terrazas madrileñas.

Only a week left to the IV Madrid Lindy Exchange! We are working against the clock to introduce new activities in the schedule. We want to fill Madrid’s most emblematic venues with dance and we are counting on you to do it! Here it is an update with the main news and new details of the event. 5, 4, 3, 2, 1 …

On Friday we will open doors to the party in Cha 3 a little early, at 11.00 p.m. That night we will have the best DJ of MAD for Swing, the live music of Madrid Lindy Exchange Band and a jam open to musicians and soloists of Madrid.

On Saturday, the party at the Círculo de Bellas Artes will have  another band playing live music: the  Rollin’ Stomps. They will act as support band for El Molino Big Band during the night party and will play during the J&J final. By the way, we have lots of amazing prizes from our collaborators and friends. We will post all the details of the J&J in a couple of days.

In addition we have already invited all the swing schools of Madrid to participate in the IV Madrid Lindy Exchange. This year they are preparing some tasters to display their abilities Saturday afternoon. They will show different styles of dance (Shag, Balboa, jazz steps) and explain tricks and movements to give more style to our lindy hop.

At 5:30 p.m., Blanco y Negro Studio will break the ice with the «Time to Break» taster so that we never sit still. He will be followed by Swing Maniacs Madrid, who at 18:00 proposes us  «A little shag in your life» and dares us to try this variety of swing. A Ritmo de Swing will demonstrate at 6:30 pm why they have given his taster the title of «Musicality, our motto» and then it will be the teachers of Big South who will teach us how «You can dance alone» with a session of Jazz steps. To close the tasters we will have Big Mama Swing with «The story behind the Lindy» and Minor Balboa, which invites us to find out why «Balboa and Lindy walk hand in hand.»

From the time the doors open until dawn, we will have two spaces: the spectacular Sala de Columnas  for dancing, and the newly refurbished La Fuentecilla Room. In this last one you will find the bar, the market of our collaborators and the photocall. It will also be possible to receive massages from a professional masseuse, but you will have to hurry to book it so you do not miss your chance. La Fuentecilla will be open throughout the event and there will be food and drink to snack on.

We have to announce that after the end of the J&J preliminary round and before the beginning of the party night session the Sala de Columnas will be closed so musicians can do sound check.

In our initial plans we wanted to spend Sunday at the Casa de Campo, but we could not resist the idea of ​​dancing in the center of Madrid. In the morning, from 12:00 to 15:00 hours, we will be at Paseo del Prado with the live music of the Madrid Lindy Exchange Band. We will begin with an open class of Charleston and then there will be social dancing in the shade of centuries old trees. Do not forget to bring bottles of water and sunscreen, as there is not much shade and the sun will still sting. In the interim, we invite you to enjoy the atmosphere of Huertas quarter to get some food. You can’t leave Madrid without first enjoying a caña or cool refreshment with a tapa on the terraces of city.
