En nuestra cuarta edición hemos querido arrancar con un pregón muy especial para este Lindy Exchange. Nuestro pistoletazo de salida será lo que queremos que sea durante estos tres días en Madrid “una puerta abierta de nuestra comunidad de swing al mundo entero”

Es por ello que os vamos a ofrecer una visita guiada para que los visitantes y locales empiecen a sentirse como en casa

Recuperamos una actividad de nuestra primera edición pero con un formato atractivo y divertido que nos ayudará a conocer la ciudad caminando y (cómo no) bailando.

Combinaremos un paseo por la ciudad descubriendo nuestra historia local con las curiosidades que han hecho que el Lindy Hop se haya convertido en un baile tan atractivo en esta ciudad.

Nuestros visitantes bailarán mientras conocerán todos los secretos que esconde esta ciudad. Pero no sólo habrá anécdotas de reyes, habrá también un recorrido por la memoria más reciente del Lindy Hop en Madrid ¿preparados?

Lindy Hop Vs Historia de Madrid

Durante casi dos horas, bailaremos, reiremos y buscaremos preciosas instantáneas que forman parte de nuestro patrimonio mientras escuchamos temas como I like Pie I like Cake que tanto sonó al principio en la ciudad.

Encontraremos las raíces de este baile, sus primeros pasos, sus clandestinos no legales para que descubráis que hemos podido bailar en la tumba de Velázquez, en palacios aristocráticos de la ciudad, en espacios golpeados por la triste corrupción de este país o en bares como el Fígaro que recuerdan la época romanticista  del siglo XIX.

Todo ello gracias a unos preciosos altavoces, cedidos por la escuela de oficios electrosonoros ideados por Juan Sorrentino y diseñados por Francisco Díaz, que nos acompañarán para dar música a grandes espacios como la Puerta del Sol, Jacinto Benavente o, incluso, la Plaza Mayor.

No os perdáis la oportunidad de bailar por la historia de una ciudad que ha crecido siempre gracias a visitantes que finalmente decidieron quedarse aquí.

Guided tour in IV Madrid Lindy Exchange.

In our fourth edition we wanted to start with a very special opening for this Lindy Exchange. Our kick-off begin with what we want to be for these three days in Madrid «an open door of our swing community to the whole world»

That is why we are going to offer you a guided tour so that visitors and locals start feeling at home.

We recovered an activity of our first edition, but with an attractive and fun format, that will help us to get to know the city by walking and (of course) dancing.

We will combine a walk through the city center discovering our local history with the curiosities that have made Lindy Hop become such an attractive dance in this city.

Our visitors will dance while they learn all the secrets that this city hides. But not only will there be anecdotes of kings, there will also be a tour of the most recent memory of the Lindy Hop in Madrid. Are you ready?

Lindy Hop vs History of Madrid

For almost two hours, we will dance, laugh and look for precious snapshots that are part of our heritage while listening to songs like “I like Pie I like Cake” that were heard so much at the beginning in the city.

We will find the roots of this dance, its first steps, the outdoors swing dance parties to discover that we could have been dancing over the tomb of Velázquez, aristocratic palaces of the city, in areas struck by the sad corruption of this country or in bars like the Figaro which recall the romantic era of the XIX century.

All of this thanks to the beautiful speakers, provided by the Electro-sound crafts school conceived by Juan Sorrentino and designed by Francisco Díaz, who will accompany us to play music in large spaces such as Puerta del Sol, Jacinto Benavente or even the Plaza Mayor.
